Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Bangalore
Upon arrival at Bangalore International airport meet with our Arrive Bangalore airport transfer to Hotel. A.N. S/S tour of Bangalore.
Day 02: Banglore
After breakfast, proceed for city sightseeing tour of Bangalore, visiting the Vidhana Soudha or the State Secretariat, Cubbon Park, The Government Museum of Bangalore (one of India's oldest museums) and the Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum, The Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace.
Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Bangalore - Mysore
Morning after breakfast drive to Mysore, en-route we will visit Srirangapatnam, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Tippu's Palace, Fort, Gumbaz and Tippu's Summer Palace.
Further continue drive to Mysore. Upon arrival check into the hotel.
After fresh-n-up city sightseeing tour of Mysore. Mysore was the erstwhile capital of the Wodeyars. The legend takes its name from a famous demon called Mahishasura, a great warrior who ruled as a tyrant until he was killed by the goddess Chamundeshwari. Mysore as we see today is most famous for the imposing Royal Palace with a magnificent Durbar Hall, particularly splendid during the Dussehra Festival when the Maharaja's jewelry, studded gold throne (weighing 200 kgs) is on display. Chamundeshwari temple perched on a hilltop is 2000 years old, Nandi Bull halfway to the hill is a 4.8 meter monolith. 19 km north-west of Mysore is the KRS Dam and the ornamental Brindavan Gardens. The musical fountains and colorful lights transform this place into a fairyland in the evenings. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Mysore - Shravanbelagola (85 km) – Mysore
After an early breakfast we will go on full day excursion to Shravanbelagola. Upon arrival visit the Jain temple - atop of the hill with five hundred steps cut out of rock lead to the summit and the colossal statue of Lord Gomateswara, which is 1705 meters high. It is nearly eighteen hundred years old.
Later return to Mysore for overnight stay.
Day 05: Mysore - Bandipur
Morning after breakfast drive to Bandipur National Park. Upon arrival check into the wildlife resort. After lunch enjoy jungle safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Overnight night stay at resort.
Day 06: Bandipur
Morning & afternoon Jeep safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Overnight stay at resort.
DAY 07: Bandipur - Mudumalai - Ooty
After breakfast leave for Ooty, well known as the Queen of Hills. En-route we will visit Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary. Further drive to Ooty. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: Ooty
After breakfast sightseeing tour of Ooty and Coonoor. Ooty is an integral part of the great plateau occupying the junction of the Eastern and Western Ghats. Located at 2240 m above sea level, Ooty is the headquarters of the Nilgiris district. Apart from coffee and tea plantations, trees like conifers, eucalyptus, pine and the wattle dot the hillside in Ooty and its environ. The places of interest in Ooty include Botanical Gardens where "summer Festival" is held each during the month of May. The the artificial lake and Dodabetta Peak which is the highest point in the district at a height of 2623mt.
Coonoor, 17 km from Ooty is a small town with an equable climate that has made it popular as hill resort. Tea and Tourism Festival is held here during Dec-Jan. the main attraction is the Sim's Park, a small well maintained botanical garden that has several varieties of plants not to be found in other hill stations. Evening transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Ooty - Coonoor (By train) - Cochin (260 km)
Morning transfer to the Ooty railway station to board the train for Coonoor. Here we will be on Nilgiri mountain railway. In July 2005, UNESCO added the Nilgiri Mountain Railway as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the site then became known as "Mountain Railways of India. After it satisfied the necessary criteria, thus forcing abandonment of the modernization plans. For the past several years diesel locomotives have taken over from steam on the section between Coonoor and Udhagamandalam. Local people and tourists have led a demand for steam locos to once again haul this section.
Upon arrival at Coonoor railway station meet with our representative and drive to Cochin. Upon arrival meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10: Cochin
Morning after breakfast city tour of Cochin to visit Dutch Palace (Built by the Portuguese), Jew Town, the 1568 Jewish Synagogue, spice market, where the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices, St. Francis' Church and Chinese fishing nets.
Optional: The evening holds a show of Kerala's most popular classical dance. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 11: Cochin - Alleppey
After breakfast drive to Alleppey and board the luxurious houseboat for an overnight journey along the tranquil Kerala backwaters. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12: Alleppey - Kovalam
Disembark from the houseboat at Alleppey and transfer to Kovalam. Check in to hotel near the beach upon arrival. Day free to spend at leisure on the beach. Enjoy playing with the golden sands or take a swim in the shallow water. A soothing sunbath is a perfect option to unwind. The more adventurous ones can enjoy thrilling beach sports. An Ayurvedic massage can also be availed (optional). Evening transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Kovalam
After breakfast full day free to explore the beaches to enjoy the sun, sea & serf. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 14: Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Kovalam
After breakfast drive to Trivandrum, arrive Trivandrum city tour of Trivandrum. The main attraction is Padmanabhaswamy Temple, one of the 108 pilgrimage sites for the Vaishnavites. The exquisite carvings on its 400 pillars is notable. Evening transfer to hotel. Afternoon free for leisure on beaches. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Kovalam - Departure
Transfer to the Trivandrum airport to board the flight for onward destination.
